Escali High-Capacity Bathroom Scale with Body Fat/Body Water Monitoring
I bought myself this scale a few months ago when I saw it on Groupon as a deal of the day. I normally am not a big advocate of using the scale to measure yourself when it comes to fitness, weight loss or dieting but if you are interested to see what your body fat percentage is and how much water you are retaining then for me it has been a great investment. I found it on Amazon for a great price so I wanted to share it with those of you who want to be able to track your progress and also monitor body fat percentage and water weight as well.
Why I like the Escali scale:
First things first, the look of this scale to me is super sleek and I like that it is clear. It is a more modern looking design which I think looks nice in my bathroom or bedroom, unlike the traditional scales which I am always trying to hide behind or under something.
It is not that heavy. It is about 5 pounds and doesn’t move around when you step on it. It is a quiet scale and you don’t have to worry about it sliding around when you get on it.
It allows you to save ‘profiles’ for everyone in your household. So if you want to use it and your significant other, you both get your own preset that you put your height, age and gender. All you have to do once you set that up is put your foot on the scale and hold it there until you see your profile number (for example, my number is 1 so I would hold my foot there until the number 1 appears then I lift my foot.) The scale then knows WHO is on it and can calculate it’s results better.
I love that you can see your body fat percentage. This helps me to stay on track because you really have no way of knowing this number unless you go to your personal trainer and he measures you with a manual caliper.
It will also tell you how many pounds you are retaining in water. (my average is about 60 pounds – 2/3 of your body weight)
