As consumers become more aware of what ingredients are going into their bodies it’s naturally (no pun intended) becoming more popular to shop for organic and natural products. It seems that everyone is going green and that many brands are popping up that make really amazing beauty and hair care products without the use of harsh chemicals, dyes, GMO ingredients and more. In order to make shampoos, conditioners and styling products cheaper many large companies are using really awful ingredients that strip your hair of moisture and natural oils – causing hair to feel weighed down, frizzy, dry and unmanageable. If you read the label of most store brand shampoos and conditioners you will be troubled to see so many chemicals on there. The problem is these ingredients over time are ruining our hair and the best approach is to go with natural ingredients and natural products to help keep your hair and scalp healthy.

Thank you 🙂As someone who has pretty dry and damaged hair I started to opt for the more natural products for my locks when I started to actual feel the effects of the drug store products. For a long time I was trying brand after brand trying to find something to make my hair feel clean and also give me tons of moisture. But what I didn’t want was moisture that made my hair greasy or oily. I felt like I was asking for the world in a bottle, but I knew if I researched enough I would find something. I color treat my hair and am not so kind with it with hot tools. Even high end salon products that I was buying were still filled with sulfates and glucose and all these other unnatural ingredients. What I found is my hair never felt amazing after using any of them and I felt as though I was doing more harm than good to my mane. So I began to start looking for natural alternatives and the good news is, this industry is BOOMING! There are so many of these brands out there, you just have to look for them. Many are found at The Vitamin Shoppe, Whole Foods, Amazon, Sephora and even your local CVS or Walgreens. Sure some may cost a little more but you really do get what you pay for. As a more savvy and conscious shopper I don’t mind spending a bit more for something that is better for me and for products where I know what the ingredients are and what they do.

So below is a list of a few products from Jane Carter Solution that I have used and find to be very gentle, moisturizing, eco-friendly and still make my hair feel great. I had tried a sample of their leave-in conditioner and loved it so I knew I had to try their shampoo and conditioner. I also like to buy from these companies because many of them do give back to the environment or their communities as well. As I continue to learn about organic and natural products I become more and more willing to spend my money there than with brands that use GMO and chemicals. I have dry hair so what I love about JCS is they were created for dry hair in mind, no matter what ethnicity. Their products contain organic essential oils, natural butters, vitamins, plant ingredients and other natural ingredients to repair damaged hair and hydrate dry hair. Many times people think natural products will lack the luster and volume of more “luxury” or drug store brands, but that is so not true. The use of natural oils and ingredients has been so much better for my hair.

Nutrient Replenishing Conditioner
Nutrient Replenishing Conditioner can be used with all hair types, but frequency of use depends upon your specific hair type (dry, oily, etc). This can be used weekly for deep conditioning on dry hair. I will put this on and leave on for about 5-10 minutes while I soak in the bath tub to let it all set in. You don’t even need a lot of it and it’s better if you use a small amount and just apply to the ends and work your way up the hair shaft. If I put this directly on my roots, like with any conditioner, my hair will feel and look oily the next day at the roots.

Overall I am very happy with the products from Jane Carter and I can’t help but smile when I see their bright sunny packaging either. Plus, they are also a New Jersey based company and well I love to support my “Jersey Girls”. I would recommend checking their stuff out and seeing if it’s right for you. If you have dry, chemically treated/color treated hair that needs some TLC I would suggest looking into some natural alternatives to save your locks like I am trying to do for mine <3
