  1. The best gift was when I paid for my ( now ex) boyfriend to come home for the holidays! He was across the country for work, but couldn’t afford the travel costs. So I got him a plane ticket and arranged everything! He loved it!

  2. First I was to say I am sorry about the loss of your Mom. I lost my Dad a few years ago and the holidays are always sad and difficult for me. So, I understand how you feel. It is ok to be sad, but try and remember all the joyful times and they will be comforting to you. And, try and talk about those memories with your family and friends. It will help you get through the holidays.

The best gift I ever gave someone was to my parents about 10 years ago. Both of my parents had had a tough year so I surprised them with a week long trip to Florida so they could escape the harsh winter weather for a week. They loved it so much in Marco Island, Florida, that they ended up living there during the winter months for 8 years. Since my Dad passed away, my Mom has not been able to go back there. I think eventually she will, but she is still grieving and just cannot see herself there without him. But I know my gift that year began a wonderful journey for them and that is why I think that was the most memorable gift I have given someone.

Thanks so much for this fantastic giveaway. Your generosity is so appreciated! Wishing you a happy and blessed holiday!

  3. The best gift I ever gave to someone was a pro- scooter that my 8 year old son really wanted. He had been putting together junk parts “building” a scooter, and a family donated it for me to gift to my son. It was a humbling and wonderful experience. I will never forget his face that year.

Blessings to you this holiday season. I know it will be bittersweet for you. Your first Christmas as a married couple, and the first year without your Mother. Take deep breaths, extra bubble baths, and carry on her traditions. I find that in carrying on traditions, it helps to pass on a part of those I’ve lost to my family.. . .

  4. The best gift I ever gave anybody was a knitted scarf. I took my time to knit and followed instructions how to make one. I never made one before and it turned out pretty nice! 🙂

  5. I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my mom young too. It’s not easy. I just “know’ they are beautiful angels watching over us. When I was 16, I saved money from my first job and bought her a beautiful dress for Christmas. She was so happy!
