To many people it might seem like a very trivial thing to do but it brings me back to my memories as a child of laying my clothes out the night before school. When it comes to working out early in the morning there are lots of excuses that you can give to yourself to hit the snooze button and opt to getting more rest. One of the best pieces of advice that I can give you to sticking to your next workout routine is to lay out all of your clothes the night before and put them in a place that you’re going to see you before you go to sleep at night.
To some of you it might seem silly but just a visual reminder of seeing your workout clothes the night before you work out will make you feel motivated empowered to put those things on in the morning and head to the gym. When I was younger I had this routine when I was going to school – I would pick out all of my clothes including any shoes and accessories and then lay it on the dresser near my bed and it got me so excited for school the next day. I think subconsciously it lets you know that you’ve made a commitment to do something tomorrow and it’s harder for you to skip doing this routine the next day because you’ve already put in some work and effort by laying your outfit out.

I know that many girls enjoy color coordinating their workout apparel and still having this out and ready to go also makes me feel really good and excited to wear everything. Lately I’ve been enjoying wearing workout shorts especially since I’ve been doing a lot more running in my cardio routine. The shorts allow more movement for me when I get very sweaty doing my running. I particularly like to have bare legs when I’m running long distance because I don’t feel so sticky with really tight pants when I start to sweat.
I picked up some of these really cute and fun workout shorts at my local target store. They also had some really great sales on cute motivational tank tops as well as comfortable sports bras and a variety of bright colors. I think when you enjoy your workout clothes and they feel good on your body it gives you another thing to be excited about going into the gym with. When your clothes fit poorly or you don’t like them it can be something that sits in the back of your mind as you exercise. Ever have shorts ride up or tights that were way too tight?! Not a good feeling and you’re always worrying about it during your workout.
I also like to lay out any type of workout equipment or accessories that I need for the next day like resistance bands, my beats by dre headphones, a shaker bottle and anything else I need for a particular work out. I make sure to have my pre-and post workout powder’s handy to make my drink as well. Right now I have been using Cellucor C4 ripped (1 scoop) and optimum nutrition amino energy (1 scoop) during my workout and for post workout I also have been using Cellucor Alpha Aminos.
I also picked up this really cute clip board calendar sheets from target as well and it was only three dollars. You can use this to mark off any milestones in your training weight lost writing out any fitness classes you have coming up and post this on your fridge for a constant piece of visual motivator. Having a plan and goals to reach will keep you pushing yourself each week. I hope that these workout tips will help you to stay motivated and on track with your fitness goals.
This morning I did 35 minutes of cardio on the Eliptical in HIIT sprints and then legs, which I filmed and will have a video for you soon!
