Get Red Carpet Ready with Me and Babbleboxx – Beauty Picks
The Oscars are happening this upcoming weekend and one of my favorite things about awards season is seeing how all the stars look on the red carpet. Not only do I love to see their gorgeous gowns, glitzy jewels and fancy purses but I love to see how beautiful their hair, makeup and skin looks too. To pull together the complete Oscar worthy package it comes down to weeks of preparation including skin care, getting enough good sleep and taking care of those areas of your body that are sure to be photographed. I was very excited to be selected by the team at Single Edition Media to review four awesome products to help get glam for any night out. I am going to walk you through everything I received in my Babble Boxx and how each of them can help you to look your best for any event or occasion.
My Babble Boxx arrived earlier this week just in time to get this review and post live before the weekend. I truly love awards shows, but only to see what everyone is wearing and what new trends are appearing in hair and makeup. I always look at the star’s skin and makeup and now with everything being shot in HD it is even more important that celebrities take great care of their skin. Sure makeup can make you look flawless, but it can only make you look as flawless as your skin is. That is why it’s so important to take great care of your skin weeks before any big event. I was excited to receive the Clarisonic Mia FIT in my delivery because Clarisonic devices have been in the skin care industry for decades. Most salons and spas now use Clarisonic tools as part of their facials.
The Mia FIT is portable, small and compact which makes it great to grab and go when traveling. It is small and lightweight and works to clean and clear your skin way below the surface, removing and helping get rid of dirt, oil and makeup that can cause breakouts. I would recommend when using a Clarisonic to start with it two times a week and then see how your skin tolerates it. I like to pair it with a gentle cleanser like Purity by Philosophy. I also love the color of the device they sent to me, it’s like a pretty Tiffany blue! This device has two settings; delicate & power cleanse so you can see which one works best for you. It is also water proof so for me I leave it on the edge of my bath tub and treat myself to a full spa like facial at home twice a week and use my Mia FIT to really cleanse and exfoliate my skin and when I am done I apply a layer of moisture using Josie Maran Argan Oil Face Butter – it’s a great way to keep your skin “Red Carpet Ready” year round.
Moving from one beautiful blue item to the next, in my Babble Boxx I also received a full size perfume from Vince Camuto called Capri. I have never purchased perfume by Vince Camuto, but I have sampled it before in Ulta and Sephora and always thought it was so fresh, light and youthful. You can imagine how excited I was to have this as part as my delivery! This bottle is absolutely gorgeous and the color is just like the scent – airy, refreshing and cool.
The name is Capri and it has such a beautiful scent that reminds me of a summer vacation on an island. You can smell hints of vanilla and citrus, peach and floral. I love perfume that is light and floral but not so strong that it smells “old” or like something your grandma might wear – this is hip, fresh and fun. I love perfume and trying new ones. I know many women like one or two and buy them over and over, but I am always open to testing out new brands and scents and this was a great addition to my collection! I would also suggest getting a beautiful perfume plate and putting this one with your others, it’s just way to pretty not to show off.
When it comes to looking your best and feeling your best, no matter what event you have on the calendar, rest and sleep is one of the most important things. A lack of sleep, and a lack of good quality sleep, can show all over your face. When you are well rested it shows in your skin, under eye area and overall appearance. I always aim to get 8 hours of sleep but there are surely nights that I just toss and turn and that’s when NyQuil’s new ZzzQuil can come in handy. I have actually bought this before and had great success in taking it to help me get to sleep faster. This non-habit forming liquid can be taken about an hour or so before you’d like to head to bed and it will help you to fall into a good sleep so that you can wake up refreshed and ready to face the day. This is also great to have on hand if you are traveling and want to get some rest on the plane or need to sleep to adjust to a new time zone.
If I work out in the evening and have taken a pre-workout it can be hard to fall to sleep at night. I like having the Zzzquil as an option to get a good night’s sleep. I usually wake up early to work out and never have a hard time waking up the next day. Also in my box was one more item which so many of us don’t pamper ourselves enough to do – baby our feet! I received an exfoliating foot peel from Baby Foot and I have to say this came at just the right time. I was noticing that my feet were feeling not that soft and life has been so busy I have not treated myself to a pedicure at the nail salon in a long time. Not only do I work out daily but I wear heels to work so my feet are always sore and dry and they surely needed some TLC.
What Baby Foot Foot Peel does is bring your feet back to life, back to those “baby soft” that we miss so much. I did this tonight and my feet already feel amazing! First you wash your feet and then cut the top part of the foot booties and then put them on like socks. Then you will use clear adhesive strips to make them nice and snug. You will leave the peel on for an hour, remove the socks and then rinse your feet and pat them dry. After that I put regular socks on and I could already feel how moisturized they were. Over the next 5-7 days the dead skin cells will shed off, just like a peel would do to your face. Over the week new skin emerges and the dead skin will fall off and voila, new baby soft feet take their place. This is perfect as you get ready for the spring and summer when open toed shoes and sandals come back in style.
These four products are going to surely come in handy to help me look and feel my very best. While I won’t be attending the Oscars anytime soon it is still great to add a beauty, sleep and wellness regiment into place to always be prepared for any red carpet moments.
