If you are anything like me, you’ll get super excited before jetting off on your holiday. I always take days to pack, so thinking about organizing other stuff often gets forgotten. It’s very important to try and stay on top of things during the build up to your trip, though. There are somethings that you should not forget. Failing to remember them could be detrimental to your entire trip! Once you are packed, work your way through this handy list to ensure you are good to go!
Organize Your Pets
Don’t forget about your furry friends! You will need to sort out pet care for them while you are away. If you own small pets, like rabbits or hamsters, you could ask your neighbors to see if they can feed them each day. If your pet sitter hasn’t looked after your animal before, make sure they are clued up on how to provide appropriate pet care. Larger pets, such as cats and dogs, may not be able to stay in your home without you. Ask friends and relatives if they could pet sit for you. If not, book your pet a stay in the local kennels or cattery.
Eat All Your Veggies
You should be eating your veggies all the time, but it is especially important in the run up to your holiday. Otherwise, you will end up with lots of leftover food in your refrigerator while you are away. Coming back to a fridge full of rotten fruit and vegetables isn’t what anyone needs straight after a vacation! So in the week before you leave, cook with all of your fresh ingredients. Check All Your Travel Documents
Do you have your passport, boarding pass and any necessary visas? If you forget any of these, then you may not even make it to your destination. A few months before you leave, double check if you need a visa for the country you are traveling to. If you do need one, apply for it in plenty of time. When you have received your visa, place it somewhere safe. Ideally, with your passport so you don’t forget to take it with you.
Change Your Money
If you need to change currency, don’t wait to do it at the airport. The currency exchange desks in the airport offer some really bad rates and will charge an excessive fee. You can always chat to your bank to see if they have any recommendations. One other important thing to remember is to tell your bank where you will be going. That way, if you use your card, they will know it is you and not a fraudster! If they don’t know this, they might restrict access to your account, and you’ll be stuck abroad with no cash!
Secure Your House
Last but not least, remember to lock your house! As you leave, double check that you’ve locked all your doors and windows. It’s also a good idea to unplug your appliances to reduce the risk of fire while you’re away.
Once you’re all organized, it’s time to jet off to your exotic location! Have a fab time!
