What I Pack to Travel Healthy and Stick to my Fitness Routine

Traveling can quickly derail your current diet and workout program. It’s extremely important to make sure to pack certain things with you so that it’s very easy to continue to do your daily workouts as well as have your vitamins and supplements and healthy snacks. I always make sure that any hotel that I’m going to be staying in while traveling away from home has a fitness center or if for some reason it doesn’t that there’s a local gym nearby that I can buy a daily guest pass so that I can make sure to get my workouts in.

Airports are terrible way to get in any type of nutrition and a lot of the times you can very easily go down that slippery slope of snacking and eating things you normally wouldn’t just based on convenience and what’s available. It’s pretty cool to see that a lot of airports are starting to offer healthier options when traveling and I guess that probably has to do with the fact that people are packing their own food because airport food is pretty terrible. I always make sure to pack a ton of snacks inside my suitcase but then also have things inside my purse to take with me on the flight to eat if I get hungry before my flight touches down.

I always make sure to buy a very large jug of water once I get past security to drink throughout the flight. Airplanes can cause a lot of dehydration not only in your body but in your skin so I like to drink tons of water on the flight to make sure I’m staying hydrated. In my purse I always carry a couple of different snacks like a no cow protein bar a piece of ostrim jerky or even a single serve protein packet and ask the flight attendant for some water and ice to mix it in. Having a few snacks already in my purse makes me stick to my routine and avoid pit falls like snacks at the magazine stands.

I also really love getting an iced black coffee once I’m through security and adding a protein powder to it for a tasty treat that’s also high in protein. I also like to carry with me on longer flights melatonin gummies to help me get a restful sleep if I know that I want to just knock out on the plane ride. This is also good when you’re changing time zones and might have a hard time getting to sleep once you settle into your hotel room. These gummies are 5mg so you only need 1-2 to help you get some rest while in flight.

It’s important for me to always take my daily vitamins and supplements so I used a pretty handy container and pill case to make sure I plot out all of my daily needs for my vitamins and supplements. The night before I travel I put all of my vitamins and each specific day that I know I’m going to stay on track. As far as what I take every day (I get this questions asked a lot and it is always changing) when it comes to vitamins and supplements it’s a pretty hefty list and I don’t necessarily believe that everyone has to take this money but it just so happens to be what I preferred to do. Every day I take zinc lozenges, fish oil, neo cell beauty bursts, probiotics ultimate 10, hyaluronic acid, calcium adora discs, Tonalin CLA, resveratrol, vitamin D3, BioSil, Viviscal and turmeric.

As for workout supplements I like to pack with me a pre-work out as well as a few single serve packets of a BCAA amino acid powder. Right now for pre-workout I am using Cellucor C4 and post workout is pineapple flavor I.liv by I am Nutritionals. It’s also great to put a couple of those packets in my purse to add to water to give it flavor and also give my body daily doses of amino acids for recovery and repair. I also am a huge fan of the flavor pineapple so this is perfect for me from a tease perspective as well as giving my muscles the fuel to repair themselves after hard workouts.

I always pack a shaker bottle with me so that I have that on hand to mix up my drinks. I also pack healthy snacks inside my luggage. I am taking some D’s Naturals no cow protein bars and Ostrim jerky sticks. I also have a few Power Crunch Choklat protein bars too if I want a treat.

I also like to bring my beats solo headphones as well as a resistance band or two in order to do some workouts in the hotel gym or if I have to I can do them in my room as well. Even if you don’t have a gym in your hotel when you are traveling make sure to pack sneakers, sports bras, socks, a hat and workout tank tops to go work out outside doing a run or you can do some at home workouts in your hotel room.

If staying on top of your workout regiment is important to you you will find a way to keep it going even when you’re away from home. Make sure to stay committed especially when traveling when it’s a very easy time to fall off the wagon and eat things you normally would not eat at home or start slacking off on your daily workouts. I will be sure to take some great photos and videos of my workouts while I’m away and I will let you guys know how the festival turns out. I am very excited and I’m sure it’s going to be a great couple of days.
