If you’re planning a wedding for yourself, then you need to make sure you’re prepared. After all, you probably realise that this day is going to be one of the best and most special days of your life. You want to make sure you have everything you need for the big day, that you look incredible, and feel amazing. Here are some tips you can use:
Start Eating and Drinking Well Far in Advance
The things you eat and drink will play a huge part in how amazing you look and feel for your big day. If you want to lose weight, maintain your weight, or shape up in any way, then making sure you do this is crucial. It isn’t just about your weight either, it’s making sure you feel amazing and look healthy. Health should always be the main goal when it comes to the things you eat and drink! When it comes to your eating, make sure you’re getting the right amounts of protein, fats, and carbs. Don’t cut out a food group completely, as this isn’t healthy or sustainable. Do something that you can stick to for the long run. This is why the sooner you start, the better. You won’t need to do anything too drastic this way! Eat plenty of vegetables, nuts, and other healthy whole foods. The less ingredients, the better! Drink lots of water and green tea too. Try to avoid fizzy drinks and alcohol. If you can start doing this at least 2 months before the big day, it’ll make such a huge difference to the way you look and feel!
Get Some Exercise
Get some exercise to compliment your new eating plan. Exercise will have so many benefits in the run up to your big day. It can help you to maintain your weight, lose weight, or shape up. It can help you to de-stress too, which is crucial when you’re planning something as big as a wedding! It will release endorphins, helping you to feel happier. It’ll also make you feel healthier. You’ll be well prepared for your honeymoon in a tropical location too! Just make sure you schedule any appropriate dress fittings at the right time. You don’t want to change your shape so much that your dress doesn’t fit properly!
Practice Hair and Makeup
You might go with somebody else to do your hair and makeup if you’re not really a pro in that department. That’s fine; just make sure you check out reviews and portfolios before going with somebody so you know that they are as good as they say they are. If you want to save money, doing it yourself is the best option. You just need to give yourself plenty of time to practice! Practice really does make perfect. Watch YouTube videos to help you!
Plan Everything as Far in Advance as Possible
The further in advance you plan everything, the less stressed you’ll feel come the big day. Of course you’ll probably still be a bag of nerves, but maybe not as bad. Give yourself as much time to plan your big day as you can. Sending your invites out far in advance will ensure everybody who is most important to you can make it too. Here are some wedding invitation ideas by Paper Themes to help you.
Double and Triple Check With Vendors
You’ll be working with so many different vendors for your big day, it can be hard to keep track. However, keep track you must! Make sure you double and triple check with vendors that everything is working out and that nothing is going to get in the way of your big day being amazing. It’ll at least put you at ease come the big day, so make sure you keep up communication.
Practice Breathing and Relaxation Techniques
As you’ll be a bag of nerves on your big day, make sure you practice breathing and relaxation techniques. To make this day be as amazing as you picture in your head, you want to stay in the present moment as best you can. You don’t want to be a blubbering mess the entire time! You want to keep worry at bay and be able to savor all of the best moment from the day. Practice your breathing and relaxation techniques to help you do this. Worrying is one of the worst things you can do on your big day, so make sure you learn how to keep it under control. If you’ve planned far in advance, there shouldn’t be all that much to worry about! Sometimes things won’t go to plan, but most of the time people won’t even notice. Even if they do, you shouldn’t let it spoil your big day.
Take Care of Your Skin
Take care of your skin early on to make sure you look radiant and glowing come the big day. Apply SPF, exfoliate regularly, use masks, maybe even have salon treatments. Your makeup will go on better on the day, as will your tan. You’ll look silky smooth, glowing and healthy.
Get Into a Good Sleep Routine
They call it beauty sleep for a reason! Make sure you get into a good sleep routine to keep under eye bags at bay. In the close run up to the wedding this is especially important, as you want to be on the ball for the big day. You want to feel energized and incredible all day long. It can be hard, but try to get into a good routine and switch off at least an hour before bed to help you wind down. When I have trouble sleeping I like to take melatonin gummies.
Preparing for the best day of your life will likely take a little more than the things this guide has mentioned. However, you’ve hopefully found something that can help you along the way. The sooner you start with planning the day and preparing yourself, the better you can enjoy the day when it comes. Do you have tips of your own? Leave a comment below!
