Unwrap the perfect snack with Soyjoy bars. At first when I received these products in the mail to sample I was a bit skeptical. I don’t eat or buy soy products much since much of the soy in the US is GMO. Soyjoy bars are baked with all natural fruit pieces and ground whole non GMO soybeans. I was surprised to learn they were non GMO which is great for me. The bars are a complete protein with complex carbohydrates, fiber and just 130-140 calories per bar. They have no trans fats, hydrogenated oils, artificial colors, flavors, preservatives or chemical additives.
SOYJOY® bars are a snack that satisfies. Baked with real pieces of fruit and non-genetically modified (non-GMO) ground whole soybeans, SOYJOY is a certified gluten-free snack bar that offers a delicious combination of good fats, plant-based proteins, and fiber. SOYJOY contains no trans fats from hydrogenated oils, or artificial ingredients. At just 130–140 calories per bar, SOYJOY fills you up without weighing you down. SOYJOY is available in seven delicious flavors—a great way to unwrap the perfect snack every day of the week.
Their tag line is “full of joy, not junk” which is catchy and appeals to those of us who prefer non-GMO products especially snacks. This is a great on the go snack to throw in your purse or gym bag. They are also certified gluten free. You can even heat these up in the microwave for 10-15 seconds for a warm treat. You can even see the bits of real fruit in the bar and they are not very big or dense.
Did you know that soy protein is the onlyprotein equivalent to animal protein with all nine essential amino acids in ratios needed for muscle growth and recovery? After exercise the intake of complete protein is key to muscle building and repair. For athletes, other than protein, iron is one of the most essential nutrients, aiding in the delivery of oxygen to muscles. One serving of soybeans contains nearly half of the daily recommendation for iron and 29g of protein.
When eating soy I will only buy non-GMO soy products. I was please to learn there are brands now using non-GMO soy in their items. I think that is a great step in the right direction. Plant based proteins are becoming more and more popular. I myself now use plant based protein powder from Vega Sport and plant based protein bars from D’s Naturals. I found than when I switched to these my stomach felt much better and less bloated than most whey protein and my skin was much clearer and less prone to break outs. Overall I have been eating less dairy in my diet overall and I can tell the difference in my skin and my stomach health and digestion.
April is National Soyfoods Month. It is a great time to look into soy foods and proteins that might work in your diet for your own personal health and fitness goals.
Other benefits of the Mighty Soybean include:
Environmentally Friendly: In terms of sustainability, soy uses fewer natural resources such as water and land than any other protein. Soybeans offer 941 pounds of protein per acre of land.iii On average, land requirements for meat-protein production are 10 times greater than for plant-protein production. iv
Heart Healthy: Soy is a lean protein and contains less saturated fat than most other protein sources and naturally has no cholesterol. It is the only protein recognized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its role in reducing cardiovascular disease.v
Best for Kids: Soymilk is the only dairy alternative that meets U.S. Department of Agriculture child nutrition requirements for protein, calcium, vitamins A and D and potassium.
