AvoDerm Natural Pet Food Review and Coupon

Did you know your pet’s healthy skin and coat are a sign of good health? Whether you have a dog in your life that sheds or needs grooming their skin and coat are very important indicators of overall health. My dog, Lola, a 5 year old Yorkie (with a personally 400x larger than her tiny body) requires grooming every 4-5 weeks. If you live in North NJ we take he to Just 4 Paws Pet Spa. Her coat can get dirty due to oils from our hands (we pet her a lot), but also from running outside, rolling around in the grass and just getting into any and everything when she is outdoors.

We wash her every two weeks but I always wonder what more can I be doing to make sure her skin and coat are healthy. She has also been suffering from allergies for the past two summers and I’m always looking for ways to help keep her itch free and comfortable. I’ve been doing  a lot of reading up on skin and allergies and how food and super foods can help to combat some of these concerns – so I was very excited to be approached by AvoDerm Natural Pet Food to test out and try their food for Miss Lola.

As many of us ladies know avocados are great for our hair and skin. The essential fatty acids are great both internally and externally. I usually do a hair mask on myself every few weeks, so I can only imagine how good this super food is for our fur baby’s hair too!

What makes AvoDerm dog food so different? The answer: natural ingredients and avocados!

Did you know avocado is good for dogs? Many people believe it is toxic to dogs, but it really isn’t. Numerous studies have concluded that it is actually only the seed and skin that contain persin that should be avoided. Despite the rumors, avocados are a natural super food, full of nutrients, crude fiber, and contain vitamins A, C, and E, as well as B6. They are rich in folate, potassium, niacin, essential fatty acids crucial to good skin, and coat health, and they also help to promote overall health.

AvoDerm Natural® pet food is one of the few that includes avocado meal and oil in its dog foods. I was excited to be able to try out their dog food for Lola to see how it would work for her. She is very picky eater (most Yorkies are) and also see how it made her skin and coat look and feel. Her vet has recommended that I add some omegas to her food, but she wouldn’t ever eat it.

The AvoDerm Natural pet food is a great combination of natural dog food that tastes great and has these good for her super foods in them too! They are also offering a $5 coupon for anyone to try AvoDerm® pet food. The company guarantees you’ll see a softer, shinier coat for your dog in six weeks. If you’re in the market for a new dog food, if you want to try a natural brand or if your dogs coat and skin are a little lack luster – you might want to give it a try.

The avocado meal and oil used in the AvoDerm Natural pet products comes from the meat of the fruit and does not contain the leaves, bark, skin or pit of the fruit. The oil is extracted from ripened fruit in which the meat pulp has been separated from the skin and the pit. I picked up a full bag of the beef recipe small breed adult dog food and one of each flavor of the wet food as well; turkey and beef recipe.

I went to my local pet food store to pickup a bag – in North Jersey you can get their products at Corrado’s Pet Market at 65 Ridge Road in North Arlington, NJ. They are more of a specialty retailer for pet foods and products, they also carry a variety of natural pet foods and I’ve shopped there for treats for Lola before, so I was happy to see they carried AvoDerm here. The cost of the small bag was $17.99 for a pretty large size. This will likely last me about 2 months since Lola eats a small amount of food; once in the morning and once at night.

For her size I gave her 2 tbsp of the wet food mixed with 1/4 cup of the dry. She actually took to it very well and the smell of the wet food is like human food! I like to mix wet and dry since she isn’t a dry food eater. She needs a bit of wet food to get her sniffing over by her bowl. The dry food is crunchy and small and is perfect for her. I love that it’s made with all natural ingredients.
