Summer is the perfect time to invite over your friends and family, gather near the BBQ or hang out in the backyard enjoying good food and great cocktails. I am a huge fan of martinis and often post about my love for a fantastic lemon drop martini so when the folks at Fabrizia Spirits reached out asking me if I would like to create some of my very own cocktails using their all natural line of liquors I said “sign me up!”
What many of you may not know about me is I was a part-time bartender for nearly 5 years in my 20’s right here in the party state of NJ. I slung drinks at some of the top nightclubs in the tri-state including down at the infamous Jersey Shore. My weekends were spent behind the bar dancing, singing and mixing up some of the best drinks and it’s something that I loved doing so much. Not only did I get to meet so many people, but I was able to learn a lot behind the bar and by attending bartending school.
Being a mixologist is not just something you learn in class, but you get better over time just by knowing what flavors or textures work well together in cocktails. So I put together 3 of my favorite summer time cocktails for you to try out at your next gathering or whenever you’re in need of an ‘adult beverage’.
Some of my favorite bartending accessories include a metal shaker bottle which gets your drinks very cold before pouring, a great set of martini glasses and margarita glasses, a sugar and salt rimmer and a shot glass measurer.
Blueberry Limoncello Lemon Drop Martini
If you love a sweet and tart lemon drop martini this is a great combination of fruit and liquor. To make this you will need a shaker, martini glass, ice, fresh blueberries that have been frozen overnight, Fabrizia Spirits Natural Limoncello, lemon slices and Absolut Vodka unflavored.
Combine in a bartending shaker ice, 1 shot of absolut vodka, 2 slices of fresh lemon, a handful of blueberries and 4 ounces of Fabrizia Limoncello. Shake up until cold and pour over ice in a chilled martini glass. Optional: sugar the rim for a sweet treat!
Blood Orange Martini
If you like to mix your cocktails with orange juice then this martini is right up your alley. The Fabrizia Blood Orange liquor is sweet and tangy and great to mix with vodka and triple sec. This is one that you can serve over ice or as a martini – either one will taste delicious. It’s not a flavor I’ve ever had before but it was sweet and refreshing and I can even imagine adding some champagne or club to this for a bit of bubbles.
To make you will need your ice filled shaker bottle again, 1/2 shot of Absolut vodka, 1/2 shot of Tripe Sec and 3 ounces of Fabrizia Spirits Blood Orange liquor. Chill your martini glass to make it extra cold. Add all ingredients into the shaker and shake to chill. Garnish with some fresh, frozen blueberries and optional sugar rim.
Frozen Blueberry Margarita
There is something about a margarita that just puts an instant smile on people’s faces. I love the tart and salty mix of a margarita but also adding in a bit of sweet with fruit like blueberries or strawberries. You can sub any fruit in this recipe. To make this you will need a blender or you can use a Nutribullet like I did.
To make this recipe you will add 2 handfuls of ice into your blender, 1 shot of Triple Sec, 4 ounces of Fabrizia Italian Margarita mix and some fruit (blueberries in this case). Sugar your rim if you prefer some sweetness, blend and then pour into your martini or margarita glass and enjoy!
CHEERS!
I hope you can add these cocktails to your party day routine! Fabrizia liquors are making there way out in NJ which is exciting because all of the liquors I have tasted by them are delicious! Whether you pour them simply over ice or make your own creations they are a lot of fun to mix with and your guests will really enjoy these cocktails – I know we did at my house.

“The company was created 99% on weekends and late at night, and would not have been possible without the support of friends and family.
