It doesn’t have to be your birthday to celebrate with a delicious protein cookie! Birthday cake flavored protein powder has been all the rage in the last few years, but now companies are turning their protein shakes into desserts like cookies, brownies and muffins. Buff Bake makes a variety of protein nut butter spreads in a variety of flavors, including birthday cake and red velvet, but they have just launched a brand new addition to their assortment; Protein Cookies! I only warn you, it will be VERY hard to just eat half once you open these bad boys up so be mindful that one cookie is 2 servings. If calorie and macros is not important to you then dive on in and enjoy yourself 🙂
The Buff Bake Protein Cookie is gluten free and made with Non-GMO ingredients. Each cookie is 16 grams of protein and is 80 grams in weight. The one package is 2 serving sizes, so be mindful to read your nutritional information on the back of the package and multiply everything you see by 2.
Each full cookie is:
- 360 calories
- 16 grams of fat
- 6 grams of saturated fat
- 200 mg of sodium
- 34 grams of carbs
- 4 grams of fiber
- 22 grams of sugar
- 16 grams of protein
For someone who is following a low carb and low sugar diet these will likely never fit into your macros, however if you want a weekly cheat day snack this is a good option. I keep my carbs to under 50 grams per day so this would take a huge chunk of my daily carb macros from me if I slammed this entire cookie. However, in the winter when I tend to add more calories and carbs back into my diet and lift heavier in hopes to put on muscle size these would come in nice and handy.
As you can see the cookie is quite dense and is going to surely fill you up. I have a hard time eating these or the Lenny & Larry’s cookies in one sitting. I will eat half now and then save half for another day or for later that day. It is hard for me to eat a whole cookie and be able to function and not want to go and take a nap somewhere after lol. These taste delicious and are very soft. The icing on the top is a nice, sweet treat and I mean who doesn’t love sprinkles?! I feel as though any birthday cake flavor food or protein bar should always have sprinkles.
As for ingredients: they are made with a whey protein concentrate and use lots of natural ingredients for sweetening like coconut palm sugar, organic cane sugar and almond butter. The products does contain dairy, eggs, soy, almonds and coconut if you are allergic please keep that in mind.
