How many times have you heard the saying, “Beauty is pain” or “I’ll sacrifice comfort for beauty?” I know it has come off my tongue before and usually when I say those words it has to do with extremely uncomfortable shoes, mainly high heels. I remember on New Year’s Eve this year getting the most amazing pair of Christian Louboutin heels from my husband as a Christmas gift and creating my entire evening outfit around those Pigalles. As I put them on my feet, brand new and beautiful, I knew right away this would be a night of foot torture. For those of you who own a pair of Christian Louboutin Pigalle or So Kate heels you know what pain I’m talking about. I even wrote a previous post talking all about how I had to go to extreme lengths to stretch out these puppies so that I wouldn’t have to crawl back to the car at the end of the evening (which I almost did on NYE just so you know.) I can usually handle a 4″ inch heel but anything above that, the arch just kills my feet. You know what I’m referring to, the burning on the base of your foot and you do some funny walk where your knees are slightly bent to alleviate the pain (very glamorous I know).

My toe cleavage was super sexy in those extreme heels, but deep inside my toes were squished like sardines and the balls of my feet felt like they were on fire. These are definitely the heels that make you pay for every step just too look elegant. I know what you’re thinking, “well who on Earth would spend that kind of money on heels that feel so terrible on your feet?” and I agree. There had to be some way to make a heel like this more enjoyable to wear!

I have to say any other style of Louboutins that I have ever owned have never hurt like those two styles, but after wearing them the first night there was no way I could return them. I had to find a way to make these more comfortable to wear instead of letting them sit in a box at the top of my clothes closet. I visited my local Target store (which is in Clifton, New Jersey) to check out the selection of Amopé products and pick up something to help me get back in my sexy red bottomed heels and back on my feet (literally). In my Target, it was located near the foot care products and also the feminine care items, though I am not sure that is where it is located in every Target store.

I love shopping in Target, however, I am a terrible “go in and just get one thing” shopper; this place sucks me in every time. My cart was filled with a few Amopé insoles as well as a ton of other things I didn’t even intend to buy like makeup, candles and clothes. I love that Target carries everything I need in one stop, so of course going in here is always a longer than expected adventure. I chose the Extreme Heel insoles because I live in high heels at work and when I go out for dinner, drinks or dancing. The only time I ever wear flat shoes is in the gym or when it’s snowing and I’m in boots (and even then sometimes they may be high heeled boots). They have support that is tailored to the pressure points created by the different kinds of shoes women wear.
