As many of you know the cold winter months can cause lots of damage to your hair. Between constant washing, blow drying, hot styling tools and products I definitely put my tresses through the ringer daily. It’s important for me to use the right products to keep my hair moisturized and frizz free, especially now that I have cold fusion hair extensions in. I am always looking for hair care products to put moisture back into my hair because it always needs some TLC, but now I also need products that are safe and gentle on my bonded hair extensions. Let’s do a quick update on my hair:
I currently have Great Lengths human hair extensions in that make my hair super long. The cold fusion hair extensions will last up to six months and cause no damage to my own hair. My hair right now hits almost at waist length so I’m washing it every other day (not every day like I used to) and I need to condition it with a natural product that won’t strip out the moisture or tangle my hair. My hair is also color treated so I need products that do not have harsh ingredients or will strip away my hair color. I tend to use a lot of hot styling tools on my hair like a blow dryer, curling iron and flat iron so I need to use some type of leave in conditioner or hair mask to really erase all of that damage I do on a daily basis.
When you have bonded keratin hair extensions you have to use the right products so that they don’t break down the bonds. Cold fusion hair extensions are expensive so you don’t want to ruin all of that investment using hair products that will destroy your hair. Aussie hair care products are safe to use on my hair extensions and are keeping them super healthy!
Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Strong Conditioning Treatment
Aussie introduced 3 Minute Miracle Strong Conditioning Treatment in 1979, and a cult following quickly took hold as women recognized the true moisturizing benefits of our deep-conditioning treatment in repairing the driest and most damaged of hair. I do the deep conditioning treatment two times a week; once in the middle of the busy work week in the evening and once on the weekend as a treat to myself. I consider it my at-home salon/spa treatment for my hair and I can’t tell you how quickly I see results when I use this product.
I wash my hair and then apply a generous amount into the palm of my hand, work it around to warm up the product, and then apply all over my hair. I put this all over but I concentrate most of the product on the ends to help repair split ends and prevent damage. My hair tends to break at the ends a lot and now that I have hair extensions it is so important that my ends stay healthy so that you don’t see them and my hair and the hair extensions blend naturally and evenly. This product smells great and isn’t overly heavy which some deep conditioners can be, so this won’t weigh my hair down and make it feel greasy after I rinse it out.
If you have human hair extensions this is safe to use on your hair and makes a world of difference in the longevity of your hair extensions. If you have Great Lengths or any other human hair extensions you can use all of Aussie’s products without fear of them drying out or getting tangled and damaged.
Aussie Moist Shampoo & Conditioner
It’s so important when you have hair extensions to use gentle, natural shampoo and conditioner. You don’t want to use anything too harsh that can loosen your bonds. I also have color treated hair so I want cleansing and conditioning products that won’t destroy my hair color or make it fade. I am loving the Aussie Moist shampoo and conditioner duo to keep my hair clean, manageable and also moisturized and healthy. I used to wash my hair every single day because of my daily workouts. My hair would be sweaty and oily so I would feel the need to wash it all the time, which dried it out a lot. I can safely wash my hair daily with these products, but now that my hair extensions are in I wash my hair every other day. This is another great shampoo and conditioner line by Aussie for those of you who battle with split ends and damage as well as frizzy hair. The shampoo and conditioner help to tackle frizziness from humidity and makes my hair super silky and helps my hair extensions blend so well with my own hair. Again, this line is safe for hair extensions and makes them stay so soft and easy to comb even when soaking wet.
It truly makes my hair super soft and that’s so important when you have hair extensions. You need your hair to feel soft and easy to brush through to keep it from getting tangled. The worst thing is to have dry, crunchy feeling hair extensions because you can also tell you have them in if they are not as healthy as your own hair. Even though I blow dry and curl my hair and hair extensions a ton, my hair feels so healthy since using these products.
